A Story of Gratitude – SAPS

Mitchell’s Plain Police Go Above and Beyond

In a world where crime often overshadows acts of bravery, it is important to shine a light on those who serve and protect with dedication.

A recent incident in Mitchell’s Plain is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our police officers and the power of faith in difficult times.

At 13:35 in the afternoon, a person waiting at a bus stop near Portlands fell victim to a robbery. In a moment of fear and danger, three suspects attacked, armed with a thick knife, threatening not only personal belongings but also a life. Yet, in what seemed like divine intervention, members of the SAPS witnessed the incident and sprang into action.

Without hesitation, the officers pursued the criminals, managing to catch two of the three suspects on the spot. The third fled, but the police did not give up. They reassured the victim, promising to retrieve the stolen belongings—and they meant it. For three hours, these dedicated officers searched for the remaining suspect. Their determination paid off.

Later that day, when the victim visited the police station to follow up, they received the best news—SAPS had recovered both stolen cell phones, worth R5,000. Against all odds, justice was served, and hope was restored.

This incident is a powerful reminder that we are never alone. Just hours before, at 01:53 AM, a voice echoed in the victim’s heart: Be still and know that I am God. In the face of fear, faith remained strong, and protection was granted.

To the brave officers of the Mitchell’s Plain SAPS—your relentless efforts, courage, and service do not go unnoticed. You have shown that there are still heroes among us, fighting for justice and safety in our communities. From the bottom of a grateful heart, thank you.

May this serve as a lesson to never stop believing in the good, and to always trust in the power of faith and protection.
