Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Suspects
Cape Town – Table Bay police are calling on the public to assist in identifying three women wearing headscarves and a man linked to a high-value jewellery theft at the V&A Waterfront.
The heist, which took place on February 22, 2025, saw the group enter a jewellery store at Alfred Mall under the pretense of being customers. They engaged with a shop assistant, trying on various items before leaving the store.
Shortly after, the group returned, with one woman asking to see a pendant again. The shop assistant assisted her, unaware of what was unfolding.
It was only after their final departure that the assistant realized that two rings and a pendant worth R1.35 million were missing. Despite immediately alerting security, the suspects had already left the V&A Waterfront.
Police have since released photographs of the four individuals in hopes of tracking them down.
Police spokesperson Anelisiwe Manyana urged the public to come forward with any information.
“Table Bay police are seeking the community’s assistance in identifying the individuals in the photographs, as they may have information that could assist in the investigation,” said Manyana.
Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Abrahams, at 082 522 2572, or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
