Two Men Found Dead in Canal

Manenberg:- The bodies of two men, aged 40 and 52, were discovered in a canal near Silverstream Road in Manenberg on Monday morning.

Both victims had sustained gunshot wounds to the upper body.
Western Cape police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed that residents of Tambo Village reported hearing gunshots around 02:30 on Monday. Police and emergency services responded to the scene shortly afterwards, where the two deceased men were found.
The motive for the shooting remains unknown, and the circumstances surrounding the incident are under active investigation by Manenberg SAPS. No arrests have been made at this stage.
Detectives are appealing to anyone with information to come forward. Anonymous tip-offs can be made to Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or via the MySAPS app.
The discovery has once again highlighted ongoing concerns about gang-related violence and safety in the Manenberg area.

Community leaders have called for increased police visibility and stronger interventions to curb crime on the Cape Flats.
