We have all seen the pictures and videos of the perfect mother’s day, starting with kids bringing her breakfast in bed…
But for most moms, the reality looks a lot different.
Just about every mother has made silent, unknown sacrifices to support her children – sacrifices of which they don’t even know, and maybe never will.
Many mothers bury their dreams in order to be there for their kids, and most others often go without things that could have had or done, if they didn’t have kids.
And let’s not forget that many mothers have had motherhood forced upon them before they were ready for it.
So, what does mother’s day mean to YOU?
Is it just another day, during you might pop in to say hello to your mom?
Or is it a family day, complete with drinking, arguing and conflict?
If you really want to celebrate mother’s day…
Think about what she would really want:
She would want to see you, and give you a hug.
She would want to spend the day peacefully, with no fighting or arguing around her.
Just for once, she would like to spend some time with you without anything negative being said.
She won’t ask for payment or recognition for the unknown sacrifices she made.
And while she will definitely appreciate getting some flowers, the thing the she will appreciate most…
Is YOU.
You, making time for her. You, for once, thinking about her, and not yourself.
Of course, for some of us it is not possible to be with our mothers on May 11, 2025…
But you can still do something special for her, even from a distance.
Call her. Chat with her on Whatsapp.
If you can, send flowers.
Or just be there.
