COURTROOM DRAMA TODAY May 23rd 2025
CCN News Desk
Cape Town: – In a scene that felt more like a courtroom thriller than a routine hearing, Thursday’s proceedings came to a grinding halt, derailed by the very officers meant to uphold justice.
The session, scheduled to move forward critical elements of the case, lasted less than an hour. Not because the agenda was short, but because the accused arrived more than 60 minutes late. Courtesy of local SAPS members who showed up with no warning, no explanation, and zero regard for the court’s time.
Judge Erasmus, visibly seething, did not hold back.
“This is not a taxi rank!” he snapped from the bench, his voice echoing through the chamber.
He refused to entertain excuses in private, ordering that every explanation be submitted on public record. Unlike their West Coast (Saldanha Bay) counterparts, who arrived punctually. Today the local Cape Town SAPS team bore the full weight of the judge’s fury.
And he’s not letting it slide. A formal report has been demanded from the Police Commissioner by Monday, 26 May. Judge Erasmus made it clear: this won’t be quietly swept under the rug.
The matter could be escalated.
Case Postponed – Again
As a result of the delay, the case has now been postponed to Tuesday, 27 May 2025.
Adding further intrigue, it was confirmed in court that a key witness from the United States is expected to testify via video link, when proceedings resume. This development signals that the case is rapidly drawing international attention.
Shocking Physical Transformation
One unexpected moment caught the eye of many in attendance: Jacquin “Boeta” Appollis, one of the accused, appeared in court noticeably thinner, prompting whispers throughout the gallery. His dramatic weight loss sparked speculation about his health and the toll of the case.
