Leads to Arrest in Botrivier
Botrivier:- A quick-thinking off-duty police officer from Caledon SAPS foiled an attempted supermarket robbery in Botrivier, Western Cape, on Friday afternoon, 15 August 2025.
The officer, who was at a local barbershop, noticed three men entering a supermarket with the apparent intent to commit a robbery. He immediately contacted his colleagues at Caledon SAPS while keeping the suspects under observation.
As the suspects attempted to flee the scene in a getaway vehicle, police swiftly intervened and apprehended them before they could leave. Three firearms, along with ammunition, were recovered during the arrest.
The adult male suspects face charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. They are scheduled to appear before the Caledon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 17 August 2025.
