Cape Town:- A swift response by members of the Flying Squad led to the arrest of four men, ages p between 21 and 32, for possession of presumed stolen property and fraud on Monday, 15 September 2025.
The suspects were stopped on the N2 near Macassar after officers noticed a silver Hyundai matching the description of a vehicle linked to recent thefts out of motor vehicles. The car was also fitted with false number plates.
Upon searching the vehicle, police discovered a black bag containing an Apple laptop, an Apple tablet, a power bank, a passport belonging to a white male, as well as several sets of car keys from different vehicles. Officers also confiscated jamming devices, a tablet holder, a reflector jacket, a screwdriver, and an external memory card reader with multiple memory sticks.
Police confirmed that the suspects were detained and will appear in court soon on charges of possession of presumed stolen property and fraud.
The arrests highlight the importance of visible policing and patrols along crime hotspots such as the N2 corridor.
