ON EXTORTION RACKET
CAPE TOWN:- Gugulethu Law Enforcement Squad were on duty patrolling in Mjodo street, when, they were then stopped by members of the public, who informed them about the suspects that were demanding protection fee the previous day in a house opposite them that has flats. They then followed up the tip off and upon arrival the suspected extortionist confirmed that they do take protection fees.
Suspects confirmed where the firearm was hidden as well as who the owner of the firearm us. Gugulethu Law Enforcement squad then further spoke to the two bravo males. They then discovered that the Firearm serial numbers were filled off. Exhibits are as follows: One (1)x 12 gauge shot gun
Four (4) x shot gun live ammunitions
One (1) x empty rifle magazine.
Suspects were then arrested and transported to Gugulethu Saps for custody and processing.
