Major Drug Bust in Bellville

Their operation have led to a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug-related crimes. A 31-year-old Nigerian national was arrested, and drugs worth an estimated R1.8 million were confiscated in a major bust at a Bellville apartment block.
Acting on intelligence gathered regarding drug activities, law enforcement officers executed a well-coordinated operation at around 06:45 on Tuesday morning. Upon searching the premises, they uncovered a substantial consignment of illegal substances, including 34,210 mandrax tablets, 1kg of crystal meth (tik), and an undisclosed amount of cash suspected to be proceeds from drug trafficking.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle drug syndicates that fuel crime and social decay in communities. Authorities confirmed that the suspect is expected to appear in court soon, facing charges related to drug possession and trafficking.
Police have urged the public to continue reporting suspicious activities, emphasizing that community involvement plays a crucial role in eradicating the illegal drug trade.
