Cape Town:- A joint operation led by the Hawks based in Bellville and George, in collaboration with the Department of Home Affairs Immigration and the NGO A21, resulted in the arrest of two suspects for human trafficking on 30 May 2025.
The arrests followed a search warrant executed at a guest house in Goodwood after authorities received information about a possible human trafficking victim being held against her will and forced into sex work.
Upon entry, officers discovered four women who admitted to working as sex workers. Also present were five other adults and three small children. Two of the adults were identified as the managers of the guest house.
Further investigation confirmed that one of the women was indeed a victim of human trafficking. The two managers were arrested on the scene.
The trafficking victim received medical attention and has since been placed in a secure facility for her safety and recovery.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing.
