A two-year-old boy was brutally beaten, allegedly by his mother’s 20-year-old boyfriend, and is now fighting for his life in Tygerberg Hospital. The little boy sustained severe bruising and trauma during the assault. His injuries were so serious that he had to be transferred to Tygerberg for urgent treatment.
Police have confirmed that the suspect, a foreign national from Pine Valley, has been arrested and remains in custody. He is expected to appear before the Wolseley Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
This horrific incident has ignited outrage across the community, with many demanding harsher punishment for those who harm children. “Our children should be safe in their own homes — not become victims of violence,” a concerned community member told CCN.
Child protection activists warn that this case is a stark reminder of the hidden abuse many children suffer in silence. They are urging the public to speak up and report any suspicions of child abuse immediately, before tragedies like this occur.
