Gugulethu is mourning the loss of popular entertainer and community sports figure Luvuyo “P Touch” Sapepa, who was gunned down in broad daylight on Monday afternoon in NY139.
Another man was also killed in the same incident.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed that the victims, aged 43 and 51, both suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died on the scene. The motive remains unknown and no arrests have been made.
Disturbing video clips of the attack, now circulating on social media, show the brazen shooting carried out by several armed suspects.
Deon Matiki, chairperson of the Gugulethu CPF, condemned the violence, saying it traumatizes residents and puts innocent lives at risk.
Sapepa, known on social media as @positivetouchza, was a resident DJ at Teez Lounge and an active member of the Gugulethu Athletic Club. Both the club and Abadlali Football Club paid tribute, describing him as a beloved teammate, friend, and community builder whose generosity and passion will be deeply missed.
