Cape Peninsula:- Residents in parts of Fish Hoek, Masiphumelele, Sun Valley and Sunnydale are urged to prepare for a temporary water supply disruption from Thursday, 2 October 2025, at 15:00.
According to the City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Directorate, the interruption is necessary to allow for urgent repairs on a suspected leak along the 400mm diameter water pipe that runs from the Clovelly Pump Station to the Harrington Reservoir in Fish Hoek.
The City confirmed that the duration of the repair cannot yet be confirmed, and if the work extends into Friday, water tankers will be deployed to affected areas. Locations of the tankers will be communicated once available.
“This leak is not related to the incident attended to in July, but was detected further along the same pipeline. Teams are sourcing the required materials so that repairs can be completed as quickly as possible once the line is drained,” the City explained.
Residents are advised to store sufficient water in advance to see them through the disruption.
The City apologised for the inconvenience and thanked residents for their patience while the essential repair work is carried out.
