Cape Town: –  A successful joint operation between SJC Tactical Reaction Team, SAPS Flying Squad, and vigilant members of the public this morning, led to the arrest of three suspects believed to be behind a string of remote jamming incidents.

Acting on intelligence about a wanted vehicle spotted in the area, law enforcement moved swiftly to intercept the suspects.  The vehicle, a rental car allegedly used as a tool in their criminal activities, was tracked down and stopped on the R300.

The suspects are now linked to five active cases, involving remote jamming and theft out of motor vehicles. Four of these at Haasendal Gables and one at Brackenfell Shopping Centre.

Authorities suspect the group used the rental strategically, to avoid detection while targeting unsuspecting shoppers.

SJC Security praised the quick coordination, stating, “This is a prime example of what’s possible when security teams, SAPS, and the public work together. We remain committed to keeping our communities safe.”
