Mossel Bay:- Firefighters from Mossel Bay Fire, Rescue and Disaster Management remain on the scene in Dana Bay last night, as they continue to battle a vegetation fire that ignited earlier in the day.
Crews are actively attending to several fire lines while mop-up operations are underway to prevent flare-ups. At this stage, no road closures have been put in place, and traffic flow in the area remains unaffected.
The Mossel Bay Municipality has expressed its appreciation to the Garden Route District Municipality for providing a tanker and skid unit, as well as to PetroSA’s fire crew for deploying a bush firefighting vehicle to assist.
Officials also thanked members of the public for their cooperation and patience throughout the day, urging residents to continue following only official municipal channels for verified updates.
