Plumstead: – A woman is recovering in hospital after a harrowing ordeal on Saturday morning when she was allegedly forced into a taxi and stabbed multiple times.
Just after 09:30 AM, Zone Response units Zulu 1, Zulu 2 and Zulu 3 were dispatched to reports of a woman in distress at the corner of Lympleigh and Southfield Roads, Plumstead.
On arrival, responders found the victim injured and severely shaken. According to information from the scene, the woman was reportedly dragged into a taxi by two men, where she was stabbed several times in the head and choked. In a desperate bid to survive, she managed to escape by falling from the moving vehicle, resulting in additional injuries to her arms, shoulders and legs.
Zone members immediately initiated first aid, stemming heavy bleeding and providing emotional support while waiting for additional services. A member of PNW also assisted on scene, helping ensure the victim remained safe until ambulance services and SAPS arrived.
The woman was transported to Victoria Hospital for further treatment. Her condition has not yet been officially confirmed, but responders wished her strength and a speedy recovery.
This incident highlights the ongoing need for awareness and rapid reporting of suspicious activity in neighbourhoods. Community patrollers were praised for their fast reaction and teamwork in an extremely traumatic situation.
