SAPS Reports Peaceful Nationwide Gatherings in Support of Party Leader

CCN Reporting

Johannesburg:- The South African Police Service (SAPS) has confirmed that thousands of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) members and supporters gathered peacefully outside courts across the country, in support of party leader Julius Malema.

In an official update, SAPS stated that despite heightened emotions following court proceedings involving Mr Malema, the marches and gatherings have taken place without any incidents.
“Up until this hour, the SAPS has observed that, despite heightened emotions around recent developments, the marches have taken place without incidents. This responsible conduct by EFF members and supporters of Mr Malema, reflects a shared commitment to upholding the rule of law and respecting the rights of others,” the police statement read.

Public Order Policing (POP) units remain deployed in various provinces to monitor the situation and ensure all gatherings continue to be peaceful. SAPS confirmed that the situation remains calm, with supporters conducting themselves in an orderly manner.

The update comes as EFF supporters showed strong solidarity with their leader during the court appearances.
SAPS commended the responsible behaviour and emphasised its commitment to maintaining safety and stability across the country.
