Recovers more than 700 Mandrax tablets and other drugs.

MUIZENBERG:- Members of Operation Prosper have arrested three men and seized more than 700 Mandrax tablets, tik and other medication during a crime-fighting operation in Muizenberg on Thursday, 20 August 2026.
The operation was conducted in Mountain Road, Overcome Heights, where two men, aged 27 and 47, were arrested on charges relating to possession of drugs and possession of a Schedule 5 medicine without a prescription.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), members recovered 500 Mandrax tablets, 159 sachets of tik and eight bottles of Stilpane syrup at the premises.
The investigation then led police to another address in the same street, where a 36-year-old man was allegedly found in possession of a further 226 Mandrax tablets and 60 sachets of tik.
He was arrested for possession of drugs. The three suspects are expected to appear in the Muizenberg Magistrate’s Court soon. Firearm and ammunition also recovered.
In a separate operation in Drury Road, Capricorn, Operation Prosper members discovered an abandoned firearm, an imitation firearm and ammunition.
Police also recovered 20 Astra pain tablets and 40 bottles of Stilpane syrup.
The firearm, ammunition, imitation firearm and medication were confiscated and booked in as exhibits.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to remove illegal drugs and firearms from communities.
SAPS has urged communities to continue supporting crime-fighting initiatives and to report suspected criminal activity to the authorities.
