STELLENBOSH:- A major dagga bust took place yesterday afternoon, at the busy Bergzicht Taxi Rank in Stellenbosch.
The Rapid Response Unit (RRU), acting swiftly on a community tip-off, arrested a 53-year-old male suspect for possession and illegal dealing in dagga.
According to authorities, two women who were initially searched at the scene were cleared of any involvement. However, the male suspect was found in possession of a substantial quantity of dagga, along with a digital scale and a significant amount of cash. The suspect reportedly admitted to trading without a legal permit and was taken into custody on the spot.
This latest arrest forms part of the RRU’s ongoing mission to clamp down on drug activity in the Stellenbosch CBD and surrounding areas. Community members are encouraged to continue reporting suspicious behavior to help keep public spaces safe.
