Help a Young South African Star Reach His Dream

Velddrif:- My name is Bryan-Jade Rhodes, better known as “Beejay Baby”. I was born and raised in the small coastal town of Velddrif on the West Coast.

At just 22 years old, I never imagined I would be standing at the door of an international opportunity — a dream many young people share, but few ever get to live.

Let me tell you where it all started:

From a young age, I had a passion for music, especially rap. I started writing my own lyrics in Grade 9, pouring my dreams, struggles, and hopes into my words. But I always believed that the entertainment world was too big, too unreachable for someone like me.

Then, everything changed.

A respected friend, Chandré Goliath, believed in me and encouraged me to take a small step.  I appeared as an extra in three episodes of the popular South African TV series Suidooster. That small role changed my confidence completely.

Soon after, I found myself traveling to Cape Town for auditions. I stayed with a friend, known as B.Boy, for nearly five months while I chased every opportunity I could.

Then came the life-changing moment – I applied for the IPop International Acting Auditions, one of the world’s most respected international talent platforms.

After numerous auditions in Johannesburg, I was the only candidate from the Western Cape selected to represent South Africa at this prestigious event in Los Angeles, USA, from 4 to 8 January 2026.

This opportunity means everything to me,  not just for myself, but for every young person from small towns like Velddrif who believes dreams are out of reach.

I am not backed by wealth, fancy agencies, or expensive training – I have only my determination, hard work, and the faith of those who support me.
