Bishop Lavis:- The two men accused of gunning down four people in a chilling attack in Reenberg Street appeared briefly in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court today, Tuesday, 15 July 2025.

Lucian Adams and Leighton Pangarker, both 23 years old, face four counts of murder following the deadly shooting that rocked the community on Friday night, 11 July 2025.

The victims,  two women and two men, were shot and killed when the suspects allegedly stormed a home and opened fire without mercy . The brutal nature of the attack has left families devastated and the broader community shaken.

During today’s court appearance, both accused were remanded in custody and are expected back in court on Friday, 18 July 2025 for further proceedings.

In a powerful show of support for justice, Deputy Provincial Commissioner Major General Bongani Maqashalala attended the court proceedings, underscoring the police’s commitment to tackling violent crime head-on.

“The presence of high-ranking police officials sends a strong message: crime will not go unpunished, and communities will not be left to suffer in silence,” a court attendee said outside.

The case has now captured provincial attention, with ongoing investigations expected to reveal whether the killings were gang-related.
