Cape Town:- Residents of Pelican Heights are advised to prepare for a scheduled water supply shutdown tomorrow, Monday 19 January 2026, between 10:00 and 16:00.

The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Directorate has announced the temporary interruption to allow maintenance teams to repair a leaking Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) on the main water supply line to the area.

During the six-hour period, the entire Pelican Heights community will experience no water supply.

Advice to residents:
– Store sufficient water in advance in clean, sealed containers for domestic use.
– Keep taps closed during the shutdown to prevent water loss or potential damage when supply is restored.

The City has apologized for the inconvenience, assuring residents that teams will work diligently to complete the repairs and restore supply as quickly as possible.

For updates or queries, residents can contact:
– X: @CityofCTAlerts
– Email: water@capetown.gov.za
– Call: 0860 103 089

The City regrets any inconvenience caused.
