Connections in Khayelitsha

Khayelitsha, Western Cape:-  Eskom, in collaboration with the South African Police Service, Metro Police, and Energy Law Enforcement, has taken firm action against illegal electricity connections in Khayelitsha’s A, B, and C Sections.

The operation, aimed at removing unauthorized power hookups, underscores the critical need for safety, energy security, and fair access to electricity.

Illegal connections pose a severe danger to residents, often leading to electrocution, fires, and power outages. These unlawful activities also place a strain on the grid, causing disruptions for paying customers and contributing to electricity losses that impact the broader community.

By removing these connections, Eskom is working to restore stability to the power supply while protecting lives and infrastructure. The utility urges residents to report illegal connections and use legal electricity services to ensure a safer and more sustainable future for all.
