Stellenbosch:- A raging mountain fire has broken out on Monday in Kylemore, Stellenbosch, prompting an urgent response from multiple firefighting teams.

The Cape Winelands District Municipality’s Fire Services have confirmed that crews are actively battling the blaze, which is being driven by warm temperatures and strong winds.

Firefighting Efforts Underway

Firefighting vehicles, ground crews, and aerial support have been deployed to contain the fire. Several organizations, including the Winelands Fire Protection Association, NCC Wildfires, Lewis Bush Clearing and Alien Firefighting, and Leading Edge Aviation South Africa, are working together to prevent further spread.

Dangerous Conditions

The combination of dry vegetation, soaring temperatures, and gusting winds is fueling the fire, making it a challenging battle for firefighters. Local authorities urge residents in the area to remain alert and follow official updates for safety instructions.

The situation is being closely monitored, and residents and visitors are advised to avoid the affected areas and report any additional fire outbreaks immediately.
