“Community Action and Safety Under Threat”
CCN Online
Cape Town:- In two separate incidents today, communities in Cape Town’s Cape Flats region demonstrated swift action and solidarity in the face of serious threats to public safety.

Early this morning, a bomb threat was received by Al-Waqiah Academy via WhatsApp. The school immediately activated safety protocols, alerting the South African Police Service (SAPS), the Masjid Committee, local security group Sniper, and the Crime Watch team.
“All learners and staff were safely evacuated and sent home. Their safety remains our highest priority, and we are grateful to report no injuries,” said Mrs. Z. Floris from the academy’s management.
The Academy thanked the broader community for its rapid support and prayers. SAPS continues its investigation into the origin of the threat.
Leiden Residents Say “Enough is Enough” – Delft
Meanwhile, in Delft, the Leiden community took matters into their own hands. After enduring months of robberies, residents apprehended two suspects in the early hours of the morning. The suspects were given a harsh community beating before being walked down Leiden Main Road and handed over to police at Delft Station.
“This is justice from the people,” one resident said. “We’ve had enough.”
Though methods may differ, both communities have made one thing clear: when threats arise, unity and action are non-negotiable.
Whether through official safety procedures or tough grassroots response, Cape Flats residents are determined not to let fear rule their streets.
May peace and safety be restored.
