“Rupert Raised It with Trump – Yet Politicians Stay Silent”
Reporter – George April
CAPE TOWN:- Friday night, the streets of Khayelitsha were once again soaked in tragedy.
At approximately 23:00, the bodies of three young men, each in their twenties, were found with fatal gunshot wounds on Mbesa Crescent, Site B. The scene was grim. Another triple murder in a community long terrorized by illegal weapons, gangs, and a government that appears more concerned about elections than lives.
Police confirmed that the assailants fled and have not yet been arrested. Investigators suspect it may have been a targeted hit, but the motive remains unclear. What is clear, however, is that these killings are no longer isolated incidents. They have become routine, and yet nothing changes.
Cape Flats – A Daily War Zone
On the Cape Flats, death is no longer shockingit’s expected. Parents bury children. Young people grow up knowing they might not grow old. Still, the silence from those in power continues.
Cape Coast News refuses to accept this as normal. Every gunshot is a failure of leadership. Every murder is proof that promises made before elections are forgotten the moment the votes are counted.
Rupert Raised It – With Trump
This national disgrace has not gone unnoticed internationally. Stellenbosch billionaire Johann Rupert reportedly told former U.S. President Donald Trump, about the daily killings on the Cape Flats. In that conversation, Rupert is said to have highlighted the crisis, urging that John Steenhuisen, leader of the Democratic Alliance, the party ruling the Western Cape, should be fully aware of what’s happening in the communities under his government’s watch.
People on the street still talk about Rupert’s words. Not because he’s a billionaire, but because he said what many wish they could:
“Politicians bark before elections, but where are they when our children die in the streets?”
It’s rare for someone with influence to speak so directly about this slaughter. And it’s even rarer for anyone in power to act on it.
We Demand Accountability
Every leader, whether local, provincial, or national, must take responsibility. You cannot campaign in these communities, take votes, and then vanish as the funerals pile up. This is not just about political power.
It’s about human lives – This must stop
Cape Coast News will continue to shine a light on the blood being spilled in our communities. We are not just telling stories.
People are demanding justice.
