Cape Town:- A brazen burglary in the early hours of Saturday, 13 September 2025, has left police concerned after thieves made off with a full SAPS uniform in Langa.
According to information, the incident took place at around 3am at Zone 25 flats, where the officer was asleep upstairs. The suspects allegedly forced their way inside and stole a bag containing his new uniform, boots, pepper spray, and other personal items.
The officer later reported the matter at Langa Police Station. SAPS spokesperson Captain Frederick Van Wyk confirmed that a case of housebreaking and theft was opened. At this stage, no arrests have been made.
Authorities have expressed concern that stolen police uniforms could potentially be misused to commit further crimes.
