Reporter – George April

Bellville South:- A swift response by members of the Special Operations Group Security, led to the arrest of a robbery suspect early this morning at the Sarepta footbridge.

At approximately 06:50, security officers were patrolling the area after receiving information about three suspects – two men and one woman – allegedly targeting commuters on their way to work.

The suspects were spotted in the act of robbing three victims under the footbridge. Officers gave chase and managed to apprehend one male suspect, who was found in possession of stolen property and an imitation firearm. The other two suspects managed to flee.

All stolen goods were recovered and handed back to the victims. The arrested suspect was handed over to Bellville South SAPS for further investigation and possible charges of robbery.

The Special Operations Group Security reiterated their commitment to community safety and thanked the public for sharing information that helps prevent crime.
