Police Appeal for Information after deadly Gugulethu shooting

GUGULETHU:- Police are calling on the public to come forward with any information following a deadly shooting outside a spaza shop in the township last week.According to police spokesperson Captain Frederick Van Wyk, Gugulethu Police have registered a murder and attempted murder case after gunfire erupted at KwaThembekile Spaza Shop in NY64, at around 7:20pm on Wednesday, 2 October 2025.

A foreign national male was shot and killed, while an 18-year-old man sustained injuries during the attack.

“The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation, and the motive for the shooting forms part of our ongoing inquiry,” said Captain Van Wyk.

Authorities have urged anyone with information that could assist investigators to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or use the MySAPS mobile app to share details anonymously.
