Major Disruptions Hit Cape Town Corridors
Reporter – George April
CAPE TOWN:- Commuters across Cape Town are facing significant delays this morning, after an electrical fault on the 11kV supply line forced multiple Metrorail services to be suspended.
According to operational updates, power panels at both Cape Town and Woodstock stations are currently out, impacting several key routes during peak travel hours.
Metrorail confirmed that:
Fish Hoek line trains will terminate at Salt River Station
Train 3200 will operate only up to Esplanade Station
Train 3500 will terminate at Bellville
All other services have been temporarily suspended until technicians restore the affected power supply.
Commuters are advised to make alternative travel arrangements while repair teams work to resolve the issue. Metrorail has apologised for the inconvenience caused and says further updates will follow as the situation develops.
