Elder Murdered and Child Injured in Crossfire

Table View: – On the evening of Wednesday, 19 November 2025, Table View Police responded to a wellness check at a property in Sceptre Crescent, Flamingo Vlei.

An armed response officer discovered the sliding door of the house ajar and entered after receiving no response. Inside, the body of a 75-year-old male was found in a bedroom with his hands and feet bound. The home was reportedly in disarray. Police confirmed that a murder investigation is underway.

Athlone Shooting
On the same day, just after 5 PM, a nine-year-old boy and an adult male were shot and wounded in Canal Road, Vygieskraal, Athlone. Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg reported that the suspect opened fire on the adult male, and the child was tragically caught in the crossfire. The suspect remains at large, and the motive for the attack is unknown. This incident occurred one day before World Children’s Day, highlighting the urgent need for safer communities.

Police urge anyone with information about either incident to come forward and assist with investigations.
