JEFFREYS BAY:- Three suspects have been arrested and a substantial quantity of illicit narcotics seized during a coordinated multi-agency intelligence-driven operation in the Jeffreys Bay policing precinct.
The operation was conducted on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026, at two separate premises in the area.
The Jeffreys Bay operation formed part of a larger ongoing inter-provincial cross-border crime operation targeting criminal syndicates and illegal supply lines operating across the Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Free State and Northern Cape.
Members of Humansdorp Crime Intelligence, the Jeffreys Bay Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) and the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) participated in the operation.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the teams acted on verified intelligence relating to alleged drug possession and dealing. Search warrants were subsequently executed in terms of Section 22 of the Criminal Procedure Act, 1977 (Act 51 of 1977).
Two identified premises were searched during the operation.
The searches resulted in the seizure of:
- 451.5 Mandrax tablets
- 50 grams of Tik (crystal methamphetamine)
Three criminal dockets have been opened for drug possession and dealing.
SAPS management commended the cooperation between Crime Intelligence, local Crime Prevention units, the SANDF and the broader inter-provincial operation, saying the collaboration was instrumental in disrupting suspected drug supply lines and contributing to safer communities.
The three suspects are expected to appear in the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court soon.
The arrests and seizures form part of continued law-enforcement efforts aimed at removing illicit drugs from communities and disrupting criminal networks operating across provincial boundaries.
