Mitchell’s Plain Residents to Take a Stand Against Violence
Cape Coast News Reporting
Cape Flats:- In the wake of a series of brutal shootings that have left the Mitchell’s Plain community in shock and mourning, local residents are determined to take a stand.
With Peace and Prayer.
The organisation “Save Mitchell’s Plain”, alongside the “Malachi Foundation”, will lead a peaceful prayer carcade through the community on Sunday, 7 July, starting at 2pm.
The carcade will depart from the “Westridge Civic Centre”, making its way through affected areas, as participants call for peace, unity, and an end to the bloodshed.
“We cannot allow fear to control our streets,” the organisers stated. “We invite all residents, faith leaders, schools, and community groups to stand with us. With prayer, unity, and community strength, we can reclaim our neighbourhoods.”
The event serves as a tribute to the victims of recent mass shootings and a call to action for safer, united communities. Residents are encouraged to show their support by joining the carcade or lining the streets as it passes.
