Mossel Bay:- Police have launched a murder investigation after the body of a 62-year-old woman was discovered in her Ocean View flat in Crook Street, near the town centre, on Sunday, September 1. 2025
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies, officers were called to the flat at around 11:00. When they arrived, they had to force open the door. Inside, they found the victim with a fatal wound to her neck.
Medical personnel confirmed her death at the scene.
Crime scene experts combed the flat for evidence, while follow-up investigations led the police to KwaNonqaba. There, in Moonie Street, the victim’s car was discovered abandoned.
At this stage, no arrests have been made, and the suspect remains at large. Police confirmed that additional charges may be added as the investigation progresses. The victim’s identity has not yet been released, pending notification of her family.
