As PA Transparency Promises Fall Short

Reporter – George April

It has been 30 days since Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader Gayton McKenzie announced that party member, Kenny Kunene would take leave from his duties.

Following revelations of his visit to the home of Katiso “KT” Molefe, the alleged mastermind behind the 2022 murder of DJ Somebody.

At the time, McKenzie assured the public that a full and transparent investigation would be conducted, insisting:

“I believe Kenny 100%. I can’t expect everyone to believe him, hence we’re launching a full investigation to prove what we know, that he is innocent. We will share the whole process and findings.”

However, no updates have been provided since then, and requests for comment from the PA remain unanswered.

Kunene has maintained his innocence, stating that his visit to Molefe’s home was purely coincidental, claiming he was simply accompanying a young journalist who was chasing an exclusive story.

The silence from the PA’s leadership has now raised fresh concerns about accountability and transparency within the party, especially as McKenzie’s earlier promises of openness remain unfulfilled.

Public frustration is growing, with one social media user commenting:
👉 “If the PA can’t even be honest about their own leaders, how can they ever be trusted to govern?”

Opposition voices have also weighed in. A DA councillor in Gauteng noted:
👉 “This shows a disturbing lack of transparency. The public deserves answers, not silence.”

For now, the controversy continues to cast a shadow over the PA, with the public left waiting for clarity and the promised findings.
