Cape Town:- As part of intensified crime prevention efforts, Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General Preston Voskuil led a series of night operations across key Cape Flats communities on Tuesday evening,  including Mitchell’s Plain, Grassy Park, Nyanga, and Khayelitsha. The visits formed part of the South African Police Service’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that criminals continue to feel the pressure of law enforcement, especially in areas most affected by serious and violent crime.

The operations focused on the confiscation of illegal firearms, ammunition, narcotics, and dangerous weapons, all significant contributors to violent offenses. In addition, tracing teams were deployed to track down and arrest wanted suspects.

Major General Voskuil took the opportunity to commend the dedication of officers on the ground, urging them to remain resolute in their mission to bring offenders to justice.

“Our collective efforts send a strong message that crime will not be tolerated. We will continue to stabilize affected areas and make our communities safer for all,” he said.

These interventions form part of SAPS’s broader strategy to restore public confidence, enhance visibility, and create a more secure environment for residents across the Western Cape.
