Three men shot dead in Lingelethu-West
CAPE TOWN:- Just after 22:20 on Sunday (20 September), gunfire tore through an informal dwelling in NB63, Phumleni, Lingelethu-West.
Police found four men with gunshot wounds inside, with three, aged between 27 and 36 were declared dead at the scene. A 38-year-old man was rushed to hospital and is receiving treatment.
Serious Violent Crime detectives are investigating, with forensics teams processed the scene, but no arrests have been made yet.
This is the second triple shooting in the greater Khayelitsha area in less than a week. On Wednesday (16 September), three men were gunned down in Makhaza after a passenger in a Toyota allegedly opened fire on the other occupants and fled.
Those bodies were found at three different locations.
Western Cape police recently reported a 6.7% drop in murders for the first quarter, but gang-related violence remains a major driver of killings on the Cape Flats. Anyone with information about the Phumleni shooting is urged to contact “Crime Stop on 08600 10111” or use the “MySAPSApp”.
Tip-offs can be anonymous.
