NORTHPINE:– Quick thinking and rapid response by SJC Armed Response officers led to the arrest of two armed robbery suspects in Burtondale Street this week.
According to reports, the NCID (Northpine City Improvement District) Control Room alerted Armed Response Officer Saayman after receiving information about two armed men allegedly robbing residents in the area.
Officer Saayman responded immediately and spotted the suspects in Burtondale Street. Acting with precision, he detained both men and recovered a firearm along with a can of pepper spray believed to have been used during the crimes.
SJC backup units arrived on the scene to assist, and the suspects were handed over to SAPS. Police later confirmed that both men were already linked to an outstanding robbery case.
Community members have praised the swift action, saying it sends a clear message that crime will not be tolerated in Northpine.
“We’re committed to keeping our community safe,” SJC Security said in a statement. “This successful arrest was the result of excellent teamwork and dedication.”
