Khayelitsha:- After months of investigation, Provincial Serious and Violent Crime detectives have made a breakthrough in a deadly February shooting in Khayelitsha.

On Saturday, 8 February 2025, gunmen opened fire in Solomon Tshuku Street, C Block, leaving three people dead and three others critically injured. Detectives pursued every lead, collecting evidence and statements that helped them identify a suspect linked to the murders.

Although the man initially managed to evade arrest, his luck ran out. On Monday, 22 September 2025, he was finally taken into custody while appearing in court on an unrelated matter.

The suspect, an adult male, is expected to appear before the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 25 September 2025, where he will face multiple charges of murder and attempted murder.

Police have commended the relentless efforts of the investigative team, emphasizing their commitment to bringing justice to the victims and their families.
