Executive Mayor Represent Saldanha Bay Municipality

Langebaan Road:- On Friday, 22 May 2026, the Executive Deputy Mayor of Saldanha Bay Municipality, accompanied by his wife, had the honour of representing the Municipality at the annual Memorial Service held at Air Force Base Langebaan RoadThe solemn event, hosted by the South African Air Force (SAAF) and the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), paid tribute to the fallen soldiers and defence civilians who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation, both within and beyond South Africa’s borders.

The service served as a powerful reminder of the bravery, dedication, and selflessness of South Africa’s military personnel.  Attendees gathered to remember and honour the legacy of those who served with distinction.

“I was deeply honoured to represent Saldanha Bay Municipality as the Executive Deputy Mayor at this meaningful annual memorial service,” said the Executive Deputy Mayor.  “Together with my wife, we stood in solidarity with the men and women of the SANDF to remember the heroes who paid the highest price for our freedom and security.”

The memorial forms part of ongoing national efforts to ensure that the sacrifices of South Africa’s defence force members are never forgotten.
Saldanha Bay Municipality continues to value its strong relationship with the Air Force Base Langebaan Road and remains committed to supporting initiatives that honour South Africa’s military heritage and foster community ties with the base.
