POLICE PROBE CONTINUES

CCN Reporter – George April

Macassar:-  Provincial Detectives attached to the Serious and Violent Crimes (Taxi Unit) are investigating a deadly shooting incident, that left two men dead and two bystanders wounded in Macassar this Tuesday morning.

The shooting unfolded in the early hours at the Mandela Drive taxi pickup point in Macassar Heights, when armed suspects opened fire, killing two men on the spot. In the chaos, two innocent bystanders were struck by stray bullets and rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment.

Macassar SAPS have since opened two counts of murder and two attempted murder cases. Forensic experts spent much of Tuesday combing the scene for evidence. Authorities believe the attack is likely linked to ongoing taxi-related conflict in the area.

The suspects fled in an unknown getaway vehicle and remain at large.

Police have appealed to the public to assist with information. Anyone who may have witnessed the attack or who has knowledge of the suspects’ whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Captain Lukhunyo Magadla on 082 411 3245,

Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or report anonymously via the MySAPS app.

“All information will be treated with the strictest confidentiality,” police confirmed.
