Cape Town:-  A Sunday morning turned tragic at the corner of Stock Road and Govan Mbeki Drive, when a young man was shot and killed while leaning over a car.

According to reports, the man had the car’s bonnet open and was either attempting to fix it or tamper with it when an unknown gunman opened fire without warning.  The victim died at the scene, collapsing over the vehicle he was working on.  Another individual nearby sustained injuries in the incident.

Police investigations later revealed that the car was stolen and that the deceased had links to the theft.  However, authorities emphasized that no act of crime justifies an execution in public.

Neighbors and witnesses described the scene as chaotic and traumatic.  “The street doesn’t forgive.  The gun doesn’t ask questions.  It just fires,” one local commented.

Police are appealing to anyone with information about the shooter or the events leading up to the incident to come forward.  Authorities urge the community to refrain from taking justice into their own hands, highlighting that street executions undermine the law and leave lasting trauma for witnesses.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers surrounding stolen vehicles and street-level crime, as well as the urgent need for preventive measures and stronger community policing.

The injured person is receiving medical attention, while the police continue their investigation.

CCN will provide updates as more information becomes available.
