Delft, Manenberg & Philippi
Reporter – George April
Cape Coast News received three community alerts on Tuesday, highlighting both criminal activity and dedicated police service across Cape Town’s metro.
In Delft, a tuckshop named Customer Care in Ntigui Street, Section 37 (N2 Gateway), was robbed by three armed suspects. Community members are urged to remain vigilant when walking or driving in the area.
Despite rising crime concerns, there are also moments of hope. Residents in Manenberg expressed gratitude to Officer Julies of Manenberg SAPS, for his compassion and ongoing commitment to the community. Locals thanked him for his kindness and the positive difference he continues to make in an area facing daily challenges.
Meanwhile, in Philippi, a hijacking took place in Schaap Road, Jim se Bos Informal Settlement. The victim was stabbed during the attack, and his Tata bakkie was stolen. Hout Bay Medical responded swiftly, stabilizing the wounded driver before transporting him to hospital. The stolen vehicle was later recovered, but the suspect remains at large. Residents are urged to remain cautious when travelling through the settlement.
CCN will continue monitoring developments and encourages communities to stay alert and report suspicious activity.
