BREAKING: LEAP Officer Dies While on Duty

Bonteheuwel:-  A LEAP officer has tragically lost his life this morning,  while assisting at a motor vehicle accident scene.The officer has been identified as Lyle Thomas, a dedicated Bonteheuwel resident and serving LEAP officer. According to information shared by community members, Thomas was on duty and rendering assistance when the fatal incident occurred.

Tributes have poured in on social media, with friends, colleagues and community members describing him as disciplined, committed and passionate about serving his community.

One community member commented: “Deepest condolences to the family… he was dedicated to his job.”
Another noted that they had seen him just a day before his passing.

The exact circumstances surrounding his death are still under investigation, and authorities have not yet released an official statement.

Lyle Thomas’s death has sent shockwaves through the Cape Flats Communities, with many expressing grief over the loss of a man who served with dedication and pride – Rest in Pease…!
