In Sandbaai and Incidents in Lavender Hill

CAPE TOWN:- Residents in Sandbaai are being urged to remain vigilant following a noticeable increase in break-ins and suspicious activity over the past few weeks.
Despite the presence of four security companies, multiple patrol vehicles and active neighborhood watches, concerning behavior continues to be reported in the area’s streets.
Community members are asked to report the following:
– Individuals checking gates, walls, doors or vehicles
– Unusual loitering around properties
– Vehicles repeatedly driving past or stopping at homes without an obvious reason
– Anyone attempting to enter or leave a property without permission
Residents are reminded that being unfamiliar does not automatically mean someone is suspicious, reports should focus on behavior rather than appearance. Any concerning activity should be reported immediately to the relevant security company or neighborhood watch. For a crime in progress, contact the South African Police Service (SAPS) without delay.

Separate incidents reported in Lavender Hill
In a separate development, residents have reported three individuals described as “flakkas” (gangsters) allegedly taxing taxis at the corner of Hek Street and St Christopher Avenue in Lavender Hill. SAPS, Law Enforcement and Metro Police have been requested to increase patrols in the area. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution when travelling through the intersection.
Heavy stone-throwing has also been reported in the vicinity of Chapel Court, Roos Court, Vogel Court and Hoek Me Allah in Lavender Hill. Authorities have again been asked to patrol the area, and residents are urged to remain careful when walking or driving nearby.
Community members are encouraged to stay alert, look out for one another, and report any suspicious or criminal activity promptly to the appropriate authorities.
