My name is George C April and I am the founder of Hopefield Community Forum NPC, a registered non-profit organization working to fight unemployment, inequality, and injustice in our town.
Last night, I posted the following message on Facebook:
HOPEFIELD UNEMPLOYED
No questions – just follow the instructions.
We MUST have a list of ALL unemployed people by FRIDAY.
Grade 10 / 11 / 12 – up to age 28.
Name / Surname / Age / Address.
PLEASE SPREAD THIS MESSAGE – LISTEN ONCE, NO UNNECESSARY QUESTIONS.
WhatsApp full details to 073 335 9873
If you’re unemployed – do what is asked, leave the rest…
We are gathering this list to pressure local businesses to give jobs to local people, as required by law.
Sadly, this is not happening in Hopefield.
As a community leader, I often speak out against unfair practices.
Today, I was told that I may now only use the computer at the local public library for 30 minutes per day, even though the library is often empty and these computers are meant for public use.
This is not just a personal blow, it’s a barrier to the work I do for unemployed youth in Hopefield.
I do not have the funds to buy a computer, but I’m not giving up.
I am not asking for comfort – I’m asking for a tool to keep helping others.
💻 Can you help?
If you have a working laptop or computer you don’t use, or if you’d like to sponsor one for community development, please contact me directly.
📞 Phone / WhatsApp: 073 335 9873
Let’s stand together for the community of Hopefield.
All I ask is a chance to keep serving.
