Community Calls for Justice
Reporter – George April
Cape Town:- After two separate road rage incidents, both caught on video, left citizens shocked and calling for urgent action.
In the latest incident on 26 June 2025 in Maitland, a video shows a man being stabbed at least eight times during a violent altercation with a taxi driver at the corner of Canon and Voortrekker Road. Police confirm the victim, a 48-year-old man, was seriously injured but managed to flee to a petrol station in Goodwood, where a worker helped get him to hospital for emergency surgery. A case of attempted murder has been opened.
Just days before, another brutal attack reportedly happened in the same area, where a man was beaten unconscious in what appears to be a related case of road rage. That video also circulated on WhatsApp, leaving many asking if these attacks are part of a growing pattern of violence on our roads.
Police are now investigating both cases, but no arrests have been made yet. The main suspect in the stabbing is described as short and chubby, and was driving a white Toyota Quantum with no visible registration.
Authorities are urging anyone with information or footage to come forward. Call Detective Sergeant Donald Phutiyagae on 079 894 1772 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
Violence is not the answer, Cape Town’s roads should be safe for everyone.
Let’s speak up and help bring justice!
