Police and community members are searching for Anovuyo Oncke (8) from Phumlani Village, Lotus River, who disappeared on Saturday, 6 September.
Her mother, Samantha Oncke (25), said Anovuyo left home around 7am but never arrived at her aunt’s place where she usually stays over. “As a mother, I am heartbroken. I don’t know where she is, if she has eaten or where she slept,” she said.
Community worker Beryl Williams confirmed search parties have gone door-to-door and police deployed K9 units on Monday.
Police spokesperson Sgt. Wesley Twigg said the Wynberg FCS Unit is investigating and called on the public to assist.
