PARKWOOD – In a continued effort to rid communities of drug-related crime, members of the Western Cape police executed a successful operation that led to the arrest of four suspects and the seizure of cocaine worth half a million rand.

The coordinated effort, carried out on Wednesday evening, 23 July 2025, involved officers from #OperationShanela2 and the Grassy Park Crime Prevention Unit. Acting on intelligence, the teams moved into the Parkwood area around 18:00, where they apprehended four male suspects aged between 24 and 46.

During the search, police uncovered a large quantity of cocaine with an estimated street value of R500,000.

Western Cape SAPS reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling drug networks, saying, “We remain unwavering in our mission to ensure safer neighbourhoods. Operations like this form part of our ongoing strategy to eliminate the threat of drugs in our communities.”

The suspects are currently in custody and are expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court soon, where they will face charges related to drug possession and dealing.
